Chula's History

First Baptist Church of Chula was organized in 1922 as a mission church from Zion Hope Baptist Church.  Since that time there have been numerous changes made.  Chula FBC started as a "once a month" church, and now meets each Sunday and Wednesday.

We are firm believers in the infallible Word of God, the Bible.  We are unashamedly Southern Baptist and fully subscribe to the Baptist Faith and Message as updated in June 2000 at the annual meeting in Orlando, Florida.  We make no apology for preaching Jesus Christ and Him crucified as mankind's only way of salvation.

Please see our various pages and learn more about us.  If you are searching for a Church family where Jesus is loved and preached, and a place to use your gifts for the edification of the church, the evangelization of the lost, and the glory of God, then consider Chula FBC.

Christ reached out to people of all ages and backgrounds and at First Baptist Church Chula we desire to do the same. That's why you'll discover here ministries geared to various life stages and needs. That's why we have a place for everyone to study the Scriptures, fellowship together, and minister to others through numerous service opportunities.

We want you to be a part of the blessings of God in the life of our church. We'll bring you updates often on just what's happening at First Baptist Church Chula and share the stories of how Christ is making a difference in people's lives.
